CONCEPT ARTIST & ILLUSTRATOR

HI THERE.

MY NAME IS GARY BEY

AND I WORK AS A FREELANCE
CONCEPT ARTIST AND ILLUSTRATOR IN SINGAPORE
I AM CURRENTLY THE AUTHOR AND ILLUSTRATOR OF A 4-PANEL COMIC SERIES CALLED "GRUMPY CODE".

IT IS FREE AND AVAILABLE FOR ALL TO VIEW ON TAPASTIC, FACEBOOK AND INSTAGRAM.
Summary: A comic series that illustrates the many problems I encountered as a student programmer, from debugging to understanding basic syntax. It will be updated every Saturday
So hope you guys enjoy it and have a laugh because problems may be painful but it doesn't mean we can't have a laugh at them.
HERE'S A SNAPSHOT!

I HAVE OBTAINED FIRST PLACE AT THE NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF S'PORE (NUS) commIT CREATION DESIGN COMPETITION.
THE COMPETITION WAS HELD IN TWO ROUNDS.
THIS ARTWORK (AS SHOWN ABOVE) WAS FOR THE FIRST ROUND ON 22ND JANUARY 2017.
AND THIS IS FOR THE SECOND ROUND WHERE PARTICIPANTS LIKE ME HAVE TO DRAW UNDER LIMITED TIME.
As chosen by the organizer of the aforementioned game jam, the overarching theme of the games we ought to create is "Shift". The formulation of games thus have to encapsulate either explicitly or implicitly the literal or the abstract meaning of shifting. Therefore, we chosen to have our game revolve around the concept of shifting emotions.

We called our game "Blank" and in "Blank", you are a box-headed stickman. Your goal is simple; Make it from point A to point B like any other generic platformer in one piece. The catch here is that you have to conquer obstacles along the way and the only way to do so is via the use of different emotions.

The game follows the fantasy adventure dreamt by our main character who is sleeping in a hospital bed due to a coma (Refer to title screen above). He embarks upon this journey after having lost all his emotions and soughts to get them back.

This game is free-to-play and downloadable in this GitHub link.
